Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 14, 2026
Chitron AI ("Chitron", "we", "us", or "our") provides an always-on-top desktop assistant that can analyze your screen and answer your questions. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Chitron, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile identifier to create and manage your account.
- Screen captures & questions. When you ask Chitron for help, the screenshot or region you choose to share, along with your text or voice prompt, is sent to our servers and AI providers to generate a response.
- Voice input. If you use voice features, your audio is transcribed to text so it can be processed as a prompt.
- Usage & credits. We keep records of your credit balance and transaction history to operate the service.
- Technical data. Basic diagnostic information such as app version and error logs to keep the product reliable.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the assistant and its responses.
- To authenticate you and manage your account and credits.
- To respond to your requests and provide support.
- To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Screen Content & Sensitive Data
Chitron only analyzes your screen when you explicitly ask it to. Screen analysis is designed to pause automatically when a sensitive app or login page is detected. We do not intentionally collect passwords, payment details, or other sensitive information, and we ask that you avoid sharing screens that contain such data. Screenshots are processed to generate an answer and are not used to build advertising profiles.
4. Third-Party Services
We rely on trusted third parties to operate Chitron, including AI model providers (such as OpenAI) to process prompts and screenshots, authentication and database providers (such as Supabase and Google) to manage sign-in and store account data. These providers process your information only to perform services for us and are bound by their own privacy and security commitments.
5. Data Retention
We retain account and credit information for as long as your account is active. Screen captures and prompts are retained only as long as needed to provide the response and improve service quality, after which they are deleted or de-identified. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and continuously improve our security practices.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
8. Children's Privacy
Chitron is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us so we can remove it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Chitron after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
